McDo? Jollibee?
ReplyDeleteHumbling experience talaga, sis. :(
ReplyDeleteIt is a stark reality that the government seems to give this issue the cold shoulder. I know they can only do so much, but I really think that now is the time they should do something about it.
Deletearggghhh...this is sad! I feel bad for those kids.
ReplyDeleteI hope they would never lose hope in life. God loves all his people, I hope they would always keep that in their good little hearts.
DeleteNaiyak ako bigla, at first I thought they were going to use the money they collected to buy chicken but then iba pala ang minimean nila huhuhu.
DeleteThose kids deserve more and better life.
ReplyDeleteSometimes when I see kids begging on the streets, I get upset and think what kind of parents do these kids have? But then again, their parents could have also been victims of fate.
DeleteIf only those who are blessed more could share their blessings to those who have less, then this world is a better place to live.
ReplyDeleteTrue, Papaleng. Share our blessings to the less fortunate. It does not always mean giving them money. We can share our time and talent with them. Voluntary work to educate the children, set up a feeding program.. yung parang soup kitchen. I am sure it would not be difficult to find sponsors for activities like these.
DeleteBrother, your post made me cry :-( I always told my kids to appreciate the life they have. I also teach them to thank their Daddy and how blessed they are. Growing up poor is not easy :-(
ReplyDeleteI agree Jessica. We always have to give thanks for what we have.
DeletePoverty is deeply rooted. Minsan, I think about the real root of the problem and I can't seem to pinpoint. Indeed, mapalad pa rin tayo. That's why I always thank God for His provision.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I can't blame these people who leave their simple lives in the provinces to live in the city. They think that Manila is all that good. Living in the city requires a certain skill set. If you don't have it, then it would be hard to succeed. If the government would bring livelihood into the provinces, then the opportunity for prosperity would be more equally distributed.
Deleteeverytime i feel down..i just look at around...and remind myself mas mapalad pa rin ako sa ibng tao na nasa paligid ko. especially if napapadaan ako sa bacolod cathedral na maraming natutulog sa labas ng simabahan. homeless people.
ReplyDeleteShengkay, you should see the ones here in Metro Manila. They live under the bridges, sleep on sidewalks, or in their wooden pushcarts. Sad sad sight to see. I only wish I could do more than spare a few coins.
DeletePraise the Lord for His Divine Providence. Nakakaiyak naman to!
ReplyDeleteWe should really be thankful for what we have and keep in mind that there are other people living in dire straits.
